Your mission

As Product Manager you will own one or more parts of the Gengo product and together with design, engineering, and various stakeholders you will develop and implement the plan to take this product to the next level. This is a rare chance to be part of a growing international startup that is serious about technology and is genuinely helping the world to communicate freely and build the next generation of AI products. 


  • Internalize and drive the mission and goals of your product
    • You understand the overall company mission and can argue how your products contribute to that strategy
    • You can identify key metrics and analyze how your features affect those numbers
  • Deeply understand user needs of your product
    • You run user studies, interview translators, write surveys, analyze the results and present them to the team
    • You read feedback forms, support emails, and talk to stakeholders across the company and summarize user needs from these different sources
  • Develop a plan and detailed user stories for new product features
    • You have experience using development tools such as Pivotaltracker, JIRA, Trello
    • Work with design and engineering to execute against your product plan
    • You have used a sketching or prototyping tool
    • You can constructively criticize designs and user flows
    • You understand web technology and can anticipate which features will be simple or complex to implement
  • Quickly iterate and unblock engineering to continuously ship product improvements
    • You can prioritize requests and bugs and back up your decision with data
    • Report on plans, progress, problems and product metrics
    • You can create polished, concise presentations conveying the key points about your work backed up with data, mockups, screenshots, etc
    • You maintain a clean and up-to-date prioritized backlog of ongoing and future product improvements



  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills with the ability to articulate creative concepts and rationale to developers and designers, and to provide feedback and guidance to such parties
  • 2-6 years of experience in consulting, finance, business management, or product management
  • Proactive mindset, eager to engage in creative problem solving
  • Strong technical understanding (CS/Engineering degree or relevant experience)
  • Ability to put yourself in the mind of the customer
  • Detail-oriented with strong design sense
  • Ability to understand metrics and key product levers that can move the needle


Bonus skills:

  • Experience with wireframing or prototyping software
  • Previous product management, design, or consulting experience
  • Startup founders, entrepreneurial background
