About the role

As Community Management Intern, you will be driving engagement efforts with our community on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, and on our community forums. You will be responsible for written communications such as replying to direct inquiries and comments, and for creating an engagement strategy involving regular posting of engagement content on social media.

A strong candidate for this position must have strong communication skills, attention to detail, ability to relate and empathize with the community and a desire to be of help. Experience administering online communities (Facebook group/page, forum, etc), familiarity with or interest in the translation and AI training data industry are a plus. 

Responsibilities

  • Timely respond to social media inquiries via direct message (Facebook, Instagram)
  • Create a social media strategy for regular posting 2-3 times a week on Facebook and Instagram. 
  • Create an engaging strategy for regular posting on the Gengo forums (once every two weeks or once a month) in order to get positive conversations started among our translators.
  • Research topics in the translation and AI data industry that may be relevant to our community. 
  • Come up with other relatable and engaging content to promote interaction between the company and the community (questions, polls, etc)

  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to empathise with people in an online environment
  • Creativity to think outside the box
  • Familiarity or interest in the translation and AI data training industry
  • Experience administering an online community (Facebook page or group, Forums, Instagram account, etc)
  • Currently based in Japan, holding a valid working visa or other work permission (資格外活動許可)

 

Bonus skills:

  • Previous experience in the translation or crowdsourcing industry
  • Multi-lingual with a fascination for languages
